History of the World in 100 Objects

One hundred programmes each dealing with an individual object which when put together tell the history of the world.

The programme was written and presented by Neil Mac Gregor, Director of the British Museum with experts from around the world.  The whole programme created a big picture joining up elements of world history to give a sense of the inter-relatedness of humanity.

You can still hear all of the programmes here and link to the British Museum website for even more details here.

These are just a tiny sample of the objects.

What would you have chosen?  The final object was not announced until the last minute.  It had to represent now and into the future.  What would you have chosen for that?  You can see the full 100 objects here.
